Description


Position Summary:


The Senior Graphic Designer is a key creative leader responsible for producing high-quality designs while overseeing major projects from concept to completion. This role will spend approximately 65–75% of their time on hands-on design work, while also acting as the Foundation’s senior design expert. The Senior Graphic Designer partners closely with the CMO to ensure design supports the organization’s strategic goals.


Essential Functions:

  • Lead the design and production of the Frank Lloyd Wright Quarterly magazine, ensuring exceptional visual storytelling.
  • Design 65–75% of the time, creating print, digital, environmental, and multimedia assets.
  • Serve as the senior design expert, providing creative direction and ensuring all design work aligns with brand standards.
  • Manage major design projects from concept to completion, coordinating timelines, priorities, and workflows in collaboration with the team.
  • Partner strategically with the CMO to align design work with marketing and organizational goals.
  • Act as the design lead on high-impact Foundation initiatives, balancing hands-on design with project leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Taliesin Institute, Public Engagement and Learning, Advancement) to translate strategic needs into effective visual solutions.
  • Review and refine creative assets, ensuring technical accuracy and consistency.
  • Contribute to managing the workflow, prioritizing design requests, and coordinating with vendors and freelancers.
  • Maintain and organize the Foundation’s digital asset library, ensuring brand materials are accessible and up to date.
  • Mentor junior designers or freelancers, offering feedback and guidance as needed.


Compensation: This position is full-time with a salary of $62K/year and comprehensive benefits including a paid time-off package. The Foundation pays up to 90% of monthly health-care premiums and enrolls all regular full-time employees into our life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and long-term care policies at no cost to employee.

Requirements


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional design experience, with a strong portfolio that includes publications and multi-channel campaigns.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Experience managing multiple design projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of brand stewardship and visual storytelling.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing and leadership teams
